Wine Cask Restaurant

813 Anacapa Street
Santa Barbara, California
805.966.9463 ·

Set in an 1860s building surrounded by a stunning garden courtyard, this Santa Barbara spot celebrates food and wine. Owner Bernard Rosenson has gathered a stellar crew, including Chef John Pettitt (for a treat, savor one of his monthly vegetable-inspired six-course tasting menus) and Wine Director Tom Keim, who has 30 years in the business under his belt. The cooking is pure California, featuring the freshest, local bounty; guests can dine under Albert Herter’s hand-painted ceiling in the fireplace-lit main room or at the more casual Intermezzo Wine Bar. If you find a wine on the list that you just have to take home (a Domaine Weinbach or Zind-Humbrecht, perhaps?), pop next door to the Wine Cask Wine Store and purchase it (at modest mark-up).
