Winebow Now Exclusive Importer of Bodega Catena Zapata

The New Jersey-based importer and distributor will bring in approximately 200,000 cases per year from Argentina's benchmark brand.

In a move designed to increase its volume and distribution in the United States, Bodega Catena Zapata of Argentina, which broke into the U.S. market in 1992 with Billington Imports and has since evolved into a benchmark brand from South America, is moving its multi-tiered portfolio to Winebow Inc. Separate from an announcement made last week, a Winebow spokesperson said the New Jersey-based importer and distributor will bring in approximately 200,000 cases per year of Catena Zapata wines, including 100,000 cases of Catena’s value-priced Tilia line.

“The Catena brand is among the most well-respected worldwide, and we are very excited to expand our long relationship with the Catena family,” said Winebow CEO Leonardo LoCascio. Winebow has long distributed the Catena family’s wines in the Northeast, and now the firm will be Catena’s exclusive U.S. importer while agreeing to support all existing Catena distributors nationwide.

Among the Catena Zapata wines Winebow will import are: Nicolas Catena Zapata, the winery’s flagship ultrapremium red blend; Catena Zapata Adrianna Malbec; Catena Zapata Nicasia Malbec; Catena Alta and Catena Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec and Chardonnay.
