At Tokyo’s popular new nightspot Two Rooms, martinis and mojitos made with distinctly Asian fruits and herbs like shiso and yuzu are the cocktails of the moment. Hands-down favorite is this sea green fresh kiwi martini perfumed with lychee.
1⁄2 kiwi, peeled
10 ml green apple syrup
35 ml 42Below Kiwi Vodka
25 ml lychee juice
Muddle kiwi in a cocktail shaker. Add apple syrup, vodka and lychee juice. Shake well. Pour into a chilled martini glass. With nearly 100 ml of liquid this will come nearly to the top.
“No garnish necessary,” Two Rooms’ mixologist Edward Baffoe maintains. “The consistency will be slightly thick and the color.”
