Wine Enthusiast Sends its Support to Japan

Join us at a Saké and Chef’s Tasting Event to Benefit Disaster Relief on April 27 in New York City.

In response to the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan on March 11, 2011, Wine Enthusiast Companies has joined forces with NY Loves Japan, a group of New York’s leading saké and Japanese food importers and restaurants, and the nonprofit organization Project by Project to organize a saké and chef’s tasting benefit on Wednesday, April 27 in New York City.

The benefit, hosted by La Venue, will feature more than 100 different saké from Japan’s foremost producers and food from restaurants including 15 East, Bond Street, Buddakan, Matsuri, wd-50 and more.

Tickets are available online for both the VIP Daiginjo tasting featuring rare, ultra premium saké for $175 per person, as well as a general tasting for $100 per person.

Those outside of New York City or unable to attend can still offer their support by making an online donation, or checking out the online charity auction site that launches soon (check for updates at nylovesjapan.com). The online auction will feature an array of restaurant and travel gift certificates, celebrity chef donations and luxury merchandise including a EuroCave Comfort 266 wine cellar donated by Wine Enthusiast Companies.

All proceeds from the tasting event and charity auction will be directed to the Japanese Red Cross Society.
We hope you will join us in showing support for this worthy cause.
