Best of 2011: Del Posto (New York, NY)

Recently bestowed four stars by The New York Times, this restaurant pairs classic Italian fare with a vast Italian-centric wine list.

Offering classic Italian cuisine with a contemporary edge, Del Posto was recently awarded four stars by The New York Times. It’s the first Italian restaurant in 36 years to receive such an honor, and one of only six four-star restaurants in New York City.

Destination Bottles:

Terlano 1966 Pinot Bianco (Alto Adige)
Giacomo Conterno 1978 Monfortino (Barolo)
Tenuta San Guido 1985 Sassicaia (Tuscany)

Wine Director Jeff Porter’s 3,000-bottle list strives to showcase the history and tradition of Italian enology.
