These restaurants pay as much attention to cocktails as cuisine.

Sometimes an apéritif helps make the meal. This list features restaurants where the drinks shine as brightly as the food.

FINO (Austin, TX)
Known for classic cocktails along with innovative creations like the Neon Indian Paintbrush (made with Hacienda de Chihuahua Sotol Reposado, Zirbenz Stone Pine Fruit Liqueur and agave nectar) served alongside Mediterranean dishes.

Iris (New Orleans, LA)
Bold drinks, like the Herbsaint Legendre absinthe-based Veradero cocktail with lemongrass and vanilla, make waves in the historic French Quarter.

Sepia (Chicago, IL)
Refined libations pair with American cuisine at this former print shop (circa 1890), decorated with knickknacks from yesteryear and vintage stemware.

Prime Meats (Brooklyn, NY)
This restaurant has a “German alpine” feel. In addition to a Prime Meats Pilsner, look for bold-flavored cocktails like the rye-based Prime Manhattan.

NOPA (San Francisco, CA)
Here, bar whiz Neyah White makes cocktails with artisan touches like the Sunshine Fix with Aperol, Brokers Gin and lemon.
