Best of 2011: étoile Restaurant (Yountville, CA)

This California restaurant is home to the youngest U.S. chef who has ever been awarded a Michelin star.

Located at Domaine Chandon, étoile’s cuisine is California/Mediterranean, but the technique is French. Working closely with Domaine Chandon’s winemakers, 25-year-old Chef Perry Hoffman—the youngest U.S. chef awarded a Michelin star—begins with a wine and creates a complementary dish.

Destination Bottles:

Domaine Chandon 2000 étoile (Sonoma)
Shafer 2008 Red Shoulder Ranch Chardonnay (Carneros)
Prunotto 2000 Costamiole (Barbera d’Asti)

The winery’s own offerings are just one facet of a deep and rounded wine list.
