How to Make a Perfect Cobbler

How to make a cobbler.

In the time it takes to read this sentence, you could have mixed up a delicious, instant-cooling cobbler, the easiest-to-make complex cocktail on the planet. What are you waiting for?

1. In a chilled rock glass or pint glass, muddle whatever summer fruit you have lying around, be it a handful of berries, a crescent moon-slice of melon, or a wedge of citrus (leave the peel on).

2. Pour in simple syrup to taste and muddle again. No simple syrup? Don’t fret my parched pal. That’s the beauty of a cobbler, any sweetener will work: Sugar, honey, agave or maple syrup will suffice.

3. Stack ice up to the rim. Now it’s time to add the booze! Classically, the cobbler was made with Sherry, but feel free to pour in vodka, rum, Bourbon or Cognac—to taste. Lastly, stir it up and sip.
