On September 5, 2013, Louis Roederer is releasing 200 jeroboams (3-liter bottles) of its 2002 Cristal. Only 25 of the limited-edition bottling will be made available in the United States. Each $25,000 bottle features a 24-karat gold lattice casing designed by artist Philippe di Méo and crafted by two master goldsmiths over four days. It consists of seven meters of gold delicately joined at over 500 points on the bottle. Two hundred additional jeroboams of the 2002 Cristal will be released in the future.

The Lodi-based company’s new namesake label will include a Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, both released this month in the U.S., Canada and Sweden. Future plans for a red varietal for Michael David Winery will be announced in 2014.

Just in time for National Rum Day on August 16, Cruzan Rum released Cruzan Velvet Cinn, a rum made with the addition of sweet cream and cinnamon. Like other Cruzan rums, the horchata-style Velvet Cinn is made from tropical rainwater and high-quality molasses. Velvet Cinn is now nationally available at $20 per 750-ml bottle.

Trinchero Family Estates announced the national launch of its new Fancy Pants wine brand.  Aimed at millenials, the Fancy Pants launch includes a 2011 Red Blend (made with Zinfandel, Cabernet and Merlot) and a 2012 Pinot Grigio, both priced at $10 per bottle.

Internet-famous feline curmudgeon Tardar Sauce, better known as “Grumpy Cat,” is cashing in on her Buzzfeed-notoriety with a new bottled coffee beverage fittingly titled “Grumpuccino.” The announcement was made via Twitter, and though no details were given about cost and market availability, the official Web site says the Grumpuccino will be available as soon as August 7.
