The Wine Program
With 600 bottles, the list is a mix of classic and esoteric varieties, from both prominent and lesser-known regions at a wide range of prices (many bottles are under $100). The majority of the list is from small producers, and it leans toward Old World-style wines, which complement Chef Michael Anthony’s light culinary style. There are 30 wines by the glass and half-glass.

Favorite Dish
The smoked trout with cipollini purée and pickled onions is a classic Gramercy Tavern dish. “The ingredients are undermanipulated, allowing them to shine, and it pairs wonderfully with many of our whites, including Riesling,” says Pope.

About the Team
Juliette Pope, the beverage director, is particularly fond of what she calls underdogs (small-scale winemakers working off the beaten path).

Corkage Policy
The fee is $35 per 750-ml bottle for first four bottles, and $50 thereafter.
