“Wine & Soul 2009 Guru Douro is made by Sandra Tavares da Silva, the Helen Turley of Portugal, and is a white blend with playful acidity, fantastic minerality and an abundance of white stone fruit,” says Gonçalves.
The Wine Program
Oceana’s collection is curated with a reverence for established European masters and an appreciation for burgeoning winemakers, encouraging guests to try wines from regions like Spain, Argentina and Portugal that go beautifully with seafood. The deep list includes more than 1,050 selections spanning 145 regions and 100 grape varieties, as well as 30 rotating wines by the glass.
“The housemade Bacalhau de Trás-os-montes paired with João Portugal Ramos Vinhos 2011 Duorum Colheita is incredible and reminds me of Portugal, my home country,” says Pedro Gonçalves, the beverage director.
The restaurant charges $50 per 750-ml bottle, and the restaurant waives the fee if you also buy a bottle from the list.
