Around the world and behind the bar
This native of Japan started alongside famed restaurateur Hiro Shinkawa at Tokyo hot spots Tableaux and Dazzle, where he learned the craft of classic cocktails and mastered the art of ice carving. Urushido moved to New York City in 2008, where he quickly landed a job at the Aussie-inspired restaurant Kingswood and eventually moved to Saxon + Parole. Among the numerous titles he’s won, Urushido won the 2014 Chivas Masters global cocktail competition. Today, he travels the world to mentor and inspire other bartenders.
