The U.S. Supreme Court will soon decide whether to hear a challenge to a Texas law that states wine retailers are not allowed to engage in cross-border commerce with individual consumers, even if wine producers are. The main issue? Do consumers have the right to buy wine from out-of-state merchants?

7-Eleven will start selling a new line of mid-priced, higher-quality wines, under the proprietary label Cherrywood Cellars, in a bid to appeal to Millennial consumers, the youngest generation now of drinking age. Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot wines will be part of the line.

Trend alert: The San Francisco Chronicle reports that a growing number of bars are putting liquors on tap.

Jim Clerkin was appointed as president and CEO of Moet Hennessy USA, effective December 1. He succeeds Mark Cornell, who headed MHUSA since 2006.
