Summer is a great time for exploring beer gardens around the world.

Summer is a great time for exploring beer gardens around the world.

Munich’s most famous beer garden is undoubtedly Hofbräuhaus. Dating back to 1589, this revered venue offers dirndlwearing servers, plenty of shade from old-growth chestnut trees, sausage plates and, of course, beer.

The Marlborough is an outstanding option for outdoor imbibing while in London, featuring barbecue, live bands and quiz night every Tuesday.

The Red Lion Inn sates beer-thirsty customers in the trendy Silverlake area of Los Angeles with plenty of suds, German-style
sausages and costumed waitresses on its upstairs-level biergarten.

The Augustiner Brewery at Mülln in Salzburg was founded by monks in 1621, offers seating for 1,500 visitors, and serves beer in the traditional fashion: from wooden barrels straight to stone mugs.

In Australia, visitors can pound back the pilsner at the Newport Arms Hotel, which claims to be Sydney’s largest waterfront beer garden, or at the Bavarian-style Belgian Beer Café Melbourne, offering a variety of seasonal suds and snacks.,

Opened in 2009, S2 in Queens, NY boasts 30,000 square feet of space, plenty of picnic tables, modern “fire pits” and 19 imported, domestic and craft beers on tap—not to mention gourmet wursts from Schaller & Weber.
