Recipe: Sex and the City Cocktails

Drinks inspired by the steamy sequel.

Published:

The stiletto-wielding, man-crazed characters on Sex and the City could be credited with putting the pink Cosmo on the map (among other things). In honor of Sex and the City II, which lands in theatres May 27, try an updated, but equally fabulous drink, like this feminine, rose-hued margarita (made from hibiscus-infused Tequila) or a simple twist on a Champagne cocktail. Bonus: the agave nectar cuts calories. -Alexis Korman

 Margarita

1 1/2 ounce Rosangel Tequila
1/2 ounce orange liqueur
1 tablespoon agave nectar
Juice of 1 lime
1 tablespoon each cranberry and orange juice
splash of ginger ale
1 1/2 cups of ice

Combine all ingredients in shaker. Strain into martini or margarita glass. Garnish with flower petal if desired.

Champagne Cocktail

1 ounce Tequila
2 strawberries
1 ounce simple syrup
splash of Champagne

Muddle strawberries, transfer to flute. Combine Tequila and simple syrup, top with Champagne.
