Brazilian Sangria

September's cocktail of the month

From New York's Barmarché, this new take on an old Spanish favorite celebrates the last bastions of summer with clever touches like cachaça and passionfruit, while the red wine adds color and structure.

1 lime, diced
2-3 bar spoons of sugar
3/4 ounces Agua Luca™ Cachaça
1 ounce red wine
3/4 ounces of passionfruit purée (Goya brand can be found in supermarkets)

In a rocks glass, muddle lime and sugar. Add remaining ingredients. Shake vigorously over ice and serve in glass. Garnish with lime and sugarcane stick.
