The Morning After

Actor Danny DeVito releases a signature limoncello.

Published:

Maybe we're all just one drunken evening away from a great idea. For Danny DeVito, inspiration came following an apparently besotted appearance on ABC's The View only a few hours after a few too many limoncellos with his actor pal George Clooney. ("I knew it was the last seven…that was going to get me," he said.) Following the "when life gives you lemons" dictum, DeVito turned his lemon-induced hangover into Danny DeVito's Premium Limoncello. Like the traditional stuff, this comes from the Amalfi Coast in southern Italy. The lemons are sourced from Sorrento and processed in a nearby distillery. For DeVito, this new venture brings him full circle. "I had a lemonade stand when I was a little kid in New Jersey," he said at a press conference launching his label. The 60-proof digestif is brought into this country by Long Island-based Harbrew Imports. www.harbrew.com/limoncello.htm
