Beach in the Seychelles

A fishing trip might not seem like the world’s most posh journey, at least until you hear about the all-inclusive, seven-day Desroches Island Fly Fishing Adventure. First, let’s talk about the setting. Desroches is located in the Seychelles, the exotic group of islands in the crystal blue waters north of Madagascar. It is there that you will find your own private villa complete with swimming pool and a fully equipped kitchen. Here’s where the magic happens: Your private chef will prepare your meals (including your freshly caught fish) ranging from seafood barbecues to Creole cuisine, complemented by a long international wine list strong in South African selections. The actual fishing happens on the Poivre and St. Joseph’s atolls, where a guide will point you to the bonefish, trevally, milkfish and triggerfish cruising in the flats and the sailfish and tuna swimming beyond. After a hard day of reeling in your catch, relaxing should be easy: the resort offers spa services, bike tours, guided snorkeling and more. It’s not exactly roughing it, but you don’t have to tell that to your fishing buddies back home. The adventure starts at $7,600.
