Easy tips for celebrating with sparkling wine.

Want to celebrate with a bottle of sparkling wine or Champagne, but not sure how much to buy? Eileen Crane, president and winemaker of Domaine Carneros in Napa, offers these easy tips for stocking up:

A 750-ml bottle of sparkling wine contains about 6 glasses. So purchase:

· 1 bottle for every 6 people for a toast only
· 1 bottle for every 3 people for a 1-hour party or event
· 1 bottle for every 1 or 2 people if sparkling wine is served exclusively throughout a meal

And remember, when opening a bottle of sparkling wine, hold the cork firmly and twist the bottle—not the cork. The cork will ease itself out almost effortlessly. www.domainecarneros.com
