For Wine Enthusiast’s 100 best Wine Restaurants issue, we asked our readers to share their favorite dining destinations to win foodie fame and a set of Triumph stemware Wine glasses, Wine enthusiast’s exclusive new line of break-resistant glassware. And the entries poured in! While we were inundated with notes from passionate wine lovers nationwide, Peggy Terry and John Terry of benicia, cA, won the prize, waxing poetic on las vegas’s smith & Wollensky (smithandwollensky.com).

“Not only are they one of the best steak houses,” wrote the Terrys, “but their wine list includes the priciest to the most humble of wines. The Terry's were surprised to learn that their favorite small, napa valley wines were on offer—a rarity even in restaurants closer to their home (near napa). And to please diners who like to byo, the corkage fees at smith & Wollensky are waived if the bottles are not already on the wine list.

“For us, that’s huge,” the Terrys wrote. “It makes it a very friendly place to try new wines.”
