Hopland Passport Spring 2012 Join us to celebrate the Annual Spring Hopland Passport on Saturday, May 5, 2012 and Sunday, May 6, 2012, from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm each day. With sixteen participating wineries pouring their best wines, incredible food pairings at each stop, and opportunities to experience tours, art installations, and live music, Hopland is the place to be for wine lovers on May 5th and 6th. Brutocao Cellars We will be pairing our wines with different exotic wood fired pizzas. Fun is guaranteed with bocce ball, other games, and contests to participate in. Live music is also a much loved Brutocao tradition at Hopland Passport, so bring your boogie shoes. Campovida Campovida will be serving up authentic Mexican street faire – soft, warm corn tortillas topped with your choice of steak, chicken or vegetables with a splash of spicy salsa, and a shower of sweet onion and fresh cilantro, which will accompany a lineup of sustainable, organic and biodynamic wines. Master gardener Ken Boek will be giving tours of the famous Campovida gardens. Come, play bocce, explore our fields of life and join our pura vida spirit! Cesar Toxqui Cellars Asia meets Mexico with our delicious tacos filled with roasted pig meat, served with a side of classic Filipino lumpia, and a traditional dessert of flan. We’ll be releasing a new wine, our 2010 Viognier; a new label, our 2010 Immigrant Zinfandel; and Barrel Tasting a new Dolce Paloma Port. We recommend pairing Zinfandel with pork, Viognier with lumpia, and Port with flan. Graziano Family of Wines Graziano Family of Wines will pair their Italian and Old World-style wines with imported Italian cheeses, including Reggiano and Pecorino, and imported sausages, as well as pate, Trudi Graziano’s famous tapenade, pork tenderloin marinated in and served with Stroh’s Ranch Marinade and fresh strawberries. Jaxon Keys I Wanna be a Rock Star! Meet your favorite rocker during Classic Rock Weekend. Live music provided by The Felt-Tips. We don’t know who’ll be here: Jimi Hendricks, Jim Morrison, Elvis? The rock ’n roll lifestyle of “we’ll all stay skinny ‘cause we just won’t eat”? Not here. The “green room” will be fully stocked with delicious wine and food pairings fit for a star. Jeriko Estate Barrel Tasting, Current Releases, Library Wines, Delicious Foods! Jeriko Estate will be serving Mexican inspired pizzas along with chips and homemade salsa in honor of the Cinco de Mayo holiday for this year’s spring passport event. Daniel Fries and Trio Paz will be providing live musical entertainment. Guests may also enjoy barrel tastings of our Pinot Noir and take advantage of deals on case sales. McDowell Valley Vineyards McDowell Valley Vineyards will have live music and the delicious Mexican food prepared by our wonderful friend Laticia that has become a much treasured tradition for our Passport weekend visitors, We look forward to seeing you! McFadden Vineyard and Farm McFadden will be cooking our own Grass Fed Beef Steaks, serving it up with our own 100% Pure Wild Rice and artichoke heart salad – everything featuring seasoning with our own Herbs and Herb Blends – all family farmed and organically grown at McFadden Farm. Everything in the tasting room is discounted 10%-40%, from our McFadden Farm food treats to Dick Lumaghi culinary pottery, from a large array of wine accessories to a wide selection of wine themed clothing, and from our famous Passport boxed gift set of herbs and wild rice to our premium wines made from our own organically grown grapes. Milano Family Winery So we here at Milano Family Winery will be serving our scrumptious Tri-tip marinated and smoked over red wine barrel staves and mesquite with rolls and an abundance of yummy vegies and dips. We will also be serving Cabot Creamery Cheeses again this Passport which are aged to perfection and delicious. Performing for us Saturday at Spring Passport is the rockin band BLIND SPOT – A group of friends who enjoy playing rock & roll, blues & other pop songs. Guaranteed to be a fun filled day so be sure to come see us at Milano Family Winery and drink some fabulous wines, shop our vendors and shake your booty! Nelson Family Vineyards The perfect combination, Nelson Family Vineyards and Mendough’s Wood-Fired Pizza. Estate wines paired with delicious pizzas made with fresh and local ingredients including chevre and sun dried tomatoes, prosciutto and arugula, Gorgonzola and artichoke all atop the most incredible crust you’ve ever had. Frangipane (almond custard tart) by Cousteaux Bakery will be paired with a delectable dessert wine to finish your tasting. Parducci Wine Cellars at the Solar Living Center What could be more succulent than fresh Oysters paired with Sauvignon Blanc and Sustainable White??? Oh, you like reds! We also will be pouring our Gold medal winning Small Lot Blend Pinot Noir paired with Pork Medallions with a Raspberry Balsamic Glaze over Creamy Polenta. Hopefully that will do it! These treats will be at our new tasting room located in the Real Goods & Solar Living Institute campus! Wine and Oysters, Wine and Pork…..who could pass this up? Rack & Riddle Rack & Riddle will be hosting a festive, gourmet Mexican cuisine. We will be serving lime & shrimp ceviche, warm tri-tip sliders and of course, chips & guacamole. This delicious meal will pair perfectly with our award-winning sparkling wines and our newly released still wines! Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style with Rack & Riddle! Saracina Saracina Vineyards will offer an exciting new concept: a food truck from Street-eatz, which will offer gourmet carne asada “blossoms” in celebration of Cinco de Mayo to accompany our award-winning Saracina and Atrea wines. Our resident crooner, Ramon, will serenade guests with festive Cinco de Mayo music, and our Saracina tasting room hosts will offer wine cave tours on Saturday. Terra Savia Papa Darrell’s deliciously scrumptious tri-tip with bordelaise sauce, Mushroom caps stuffed with walnuts and herbs, Candida DeLorenzo’s Baguette pudding with fresh spring cherries, Orange infused olive tapenade on crostini, Honey & Lavender baked walnuts. Music by the highly entertaining and original local brother & sister duo “The Avery’s. They will surely make you swing your hips and stomp your feet. . Weibel Family Winery We will be hosting Sarah Piccolo and her fabulous Fork Catering food truck from Sebastopol! Offerings for Spring 2012 Hopland Passport will include Korean Braised Pork Belly Tacos, Lamb and Pinenut Meatballs, Hanger Steak on Crostini and Mexican Chocolate Brownies. Club Weibel members will enjoy a 30% discount on cases Passport Weekend. We will also be celebrating the release of our inaugural Mendocino Brut ~ a limited production sparkler composed of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir from our estate vineyards.
