A step up from the '04, this is a better showcase for the cassis, blackberry and black cherry fruit from this old vine site. The balance of fruit, acid and tannin is in good proportion, and the wine is taut and slightly earthy, in a good way. The flavors gather strength and show signs of fleshing out as the wine breathes a bit.
