After starting out earthy and horsey, the nose on this Mencía turns more plummy, ripe and chunky. The palate is full and smooth, maybe a touch heavy, with briny plum and raspberry flavors. Moderate tannins create a mild grating sensation on a full, plummy, briny finish. Drink through 2018.
