Hailing from a hot vintage, this blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot is ripe and fruit-forward, while maintaining finesse and verve. On the nose, dark cherry, plum and blackcurrant aromas are lifted over integrated oak tones of vanilla and baking spice. A full and structured palate brings rich black-fruit flavors, with cracked pepper and crushed granite adding nuance.
Formerly working in the Finger Lakes wine region of upstate New York, Peartree's passion for terroir-expressive products, which spans from wine to cider and tea, is only rivaled by his love of canoeing and hiking. He prefers to focus on wines from Virginia, Michigan, Texas and other smaller U.S. regions, as well as domestic and international cider.
