Consulting winemaker Michel Rolland oversees this Long Shadows Merlot, which includes 19% Cabernet Sauvignon (from Red Mountain's Tapteil Vineyard) in the blend. It's a flat out yummy wine from the moment the cork is pulled, loaded with spice and thick, ripe, dense tannins. There's plenty of rich fruit to balance the depth of flavor from a generous mix of new French oak. It would be hard to find a better Merlot from anywhere at this price.
