This robust red opens with aromas of toast, baked plum, menthol, espresso and vanilla that carry over to the warm, densely concentrated palate along with blackberry jam, licorice and oak-driven spice. You'll notice the heat of evident alcohol on the midpalate while close-grained tannins give it an astringent finish.
