Executive Editor Susan Kostrzewa joined Wine Enthusiast in 2006, when she moved from Sonoma, California, to Manhattan. Kostrzewa has written and edited wine, food and travel stories for the past 14 years, and oversees all editorial direction of Wine Enthusiast Magazine and, in addition to the tasting programs. Kostrzewa co-edited the Wine Enthusiast Wine & Food Pairings book and has co-authored numerous books on wine and travel in her career.

Tasting Director Lauren Buzzeo joined Wine Enthusiast Magazine in 2006 as a tasting coordinator. Thanks to her father, she developed an interest in and love of wine at an early age, and her respect and adoration for all things vinous has remained strong ever since. Today, Lauren is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the tasting and review program, and currently reviews the wines of Languedoc-Roussillon and South Africa, as well as beers. Since coming to Wine Enthusiast, she has made it one of her personal missions to promote the acceptance of cross-drinking, encouraging everyone to embrace finely crafted libations across all beverage categories. Lauren is also an avid homebrewer and a member of the AHA (American Homebrewers Association).

She is also an adjunct professor at Westchester Community College in New York, where she teaches the journalism course she developed called Modern Media Writing. An experienced traveller, he’s visited vineyards in 11 countries and 5 states. Fink recently relocated from Seattle to New York City, where he continues to sing the praises of enjoying Champagne with popcorn.

Alexander Peartree joined Wine Enthusiast in 2013 after working in the Finger Lakes wine region of upstate New York.  On top of his appreciation for wine, his experience with hard cider and tea speak to his dedication to the artisanal craft of all quality beverages, and his interest in constantly challenging and expanding upon his tasting palate.  Alexander is currently working to obtain his Diploma in Wine & Spirits from the Wine & Spirit Education Trust. Roger Voss is a veteran wine and food author, and a journalist and has been writing about wine and food for the past 25 years. He is based in Bordeaux, France, and reviews the wines of Austria, France and Portugal.

Prior to her appointment with Wine Enthusiast, O’Keefe, who moved to Italy in 1991, wrote regularly on Italian wine for Decanter, as well as for World of Fine Wine and on She is a former contributing editor for Wine News magazine, and is the author of Franco Biondi Santi: The Gentleman of Brunello (Veronelli Editore, 2005), a recipient of a Gourmand Wine Book Award. Her latest two books are Brunello di Montalcino: Understanding and Appreciating One of Italy’s Greatest Wines (University of California Press, 2012) and Barolo and Barbaresco: the King and Queen  of Italian Wine (University of California Press, 2014).

Contributing Editor Virginie Boone has been with Wine Enthusiast since 2010, and reviews and reports on the wines of Napa and Sonoma for the magazine. Sonoma-based Boone began her writing career in 1997 with Lonely Planet travel guidebooks, contributing to titles on South America, Northern California, France and America’s Deep South. Travel assignments led her to California-focused wine coverage, including regular features for the New York Times regional newspaper Santa Rosa Press Democrat, for which Boone has been a contributing wine writer for several years. She is also the author of Napa Valley and Sonoma: Heart of California Wine Country, and a regular panelist and speaker on wine topics in California and beyond.

Santa-Barbara based Kettmann is senior editor for the weekly newspaper The Santa Barbara Independent, for which he has covered local news, lifestyle and beverage beats since 1999, and has reported on local and general wine topics for the New York Times, Time Magazine, Smithsonian, Sunset and Wine Spectator. In addition to organizing successful regional wine food and drink events in Santa Barbara and moderating at the annual Paso Robles CAB Collective seminar at the California Wine Festival last fall, in 2009, Kettmann cofounded New Noise Santa Barbara, an annual music conference and festival, and also serves on the board for Notes for Notes, a nonprofit providing free access to musical instruments and recording studios for music-interested youth.

Anna Lee C. Iijima joined Wine Enthusiast in 2010 following a career in corporate law. Based in New Orleans, she has also lived in Canada and Spain, as well as New York City. In addition to her role with Wine Enthusiast, she’s a short fiction writer, co-founder of Big Easy ‘Bucha—an artisanal kombucha beverage company that gives back to food charities in New Orleans—and has an MA in English and Comparative Literature from Columbia University.
