A Lifelong Bond

A Lifelong Bond

-Room service? Yes, I’d like a bottle of Bollinger and the Beluga caviar.
-Very good, Mr. Bond. For two?
-No. For one.

James Bond always did have class, even when the only thing he was planning an escape from was a spontaneous tryst with a seductive agent.聽 And his tactical weapon of choice? Bollinger Champagne.

The release of the latest Bond installment and 22nd official Bond feature, Quantum of Solace, marks the continuation of one of the longest-running brand-marketing partnerships in movie history. Since 1979’s Moonraker (“Bollinger? If it’s ’69 you were expecting me.”), Bollinger Champagne has been a mainstay in the Bond legacy, making its 11th appearance with this movie. Bollinger is commemorating the occasion with a limited-release steel cooler conceived by French designer Eric Berth猫s and shaped to resemble a bullet and engraved with the double “O” seven logo ($5,800, 207 produced).

So for all the Bond wannabes, next time, instead of asking for your cocktail to be “shaken, not stirred,” consider requesting a glass of this classic bubbly, preferably with a captivating cohort on one arm, and a Walther PPK in hand.
