Two extravagant wine cellars, available for small-group private dining, are the main draw for vinophiles visiting The Cloister and The Lodge, two upscale lodgings on Georgia’s Sea Island. The Cloister’s wine cellar seats up to 14 guests, who dine at a handmade English oak table in a room fashioned from reclaimed pine sourced from an 1880s sawmill in South Carolina. The Lodge’s cellar can host 20, with a romantic dining room featuring an exposed brick staircase, stunning chandeliers and a bottle-lined chamber. In either cellar, guests can choose from a wine list that tops 1,000 labels (and includes vintages from as far back as the 1830s) as well as sample five private-label wines produced exclusively for Sea Island Resorts (including bottlings from Iron Horse, Swanson, Laurel Glen and Au Bon Climat). Customized menus can be created by executive chef Daniel Zeal at the Cloister’s cellar, while guests can dine from featured selections off the Colt & Alison menu at The Lodge.
