Wine Enthusiast Media Expands

The company expands business and evolves staff for 2012 growth.

Wine Enthusiast Media has experienced record-setting circulation, advertising and press attention in 2011. This phenomenal growth will continue as Wine Enthusiast Media unveils plans to substantially expand its global tasting department, further its role as the world’s most important wine lifestyle consumer media group and offer vastly integrated commercial media opportunities.

These initiatives include:

1. Wine Enthusiast Importer Connection, a program that will connect wines not imported into the United States with importing companies;
2. A Mandarin Chinese edition of Wine Enthusiast Magazine which will be circulated monthly in Greater China and Hong Kong to 100,000 Chinese VIP consumers;
3. A new comprehensive version of our Wine Enthusiast Buying Guide App with more than 200,000 ratings and reviews;
4. A diverse array of expanded video coverage on WineMag.com, Wine Enthusiast Media‘s Web site.

In addition, the following exciting new appointments have been made at Wine Enthusiast to address this ongoing expansion:

Jay Spatela has been named Vice President of Publishing for Wine Enthusiast Media. In his role, Spaleta will oversee all commercial and creative direction, both in print and online, and will be integral in all aspects of evolution for the Wine Enthusiast Magazine brand. Spaleta’s career prior to Wine Enthusiast spanned more than 13 years in senior roles with prestigious publications such as Details and Vanity Fair. Spaleta was previously Associate Publisher for Wine Enthusiast Media.

 

Joe Czerwinski has been appointed Managing Editor of Digital and Print for Wine Enthusiast Media. In his role, Czerwinski will manage all aspects of digital and print production for Wine Enthusiast Magazine as well as helping drive the creative direction of the dynamic online and print publications. Czerwinski has been a wine journalist, editor and taster for over a decade and is a regular wine panelist, speaker and educator for events and organizations worldwide. Czerwinski was previously Senior Editor and Tasting Director for Wine Enthusiast Media.

 

Lauren Buzzeo has been named Tasting Director for Wine Enthusiast Media. In her role, Buzzeo will direct the domestic and international tasting program for the magazine and will manage the direction of Wine Enthusiast’s entire tasting team and all endeavors of the program. Buzzeo brings more than 10 years experience in the wine, beer and spirits business and is also a regular feature writer and blogger for the magazine. Buzzeo was previously Assistant Tasting Director for Wine Enthusiast Media.
