Hand-cut fries soaked in Cabernet Sauvignon paired with a glass of goodness—that’s just one of the menu items on offer at Partake by K-J, Kendall-Jackson Wine Estates’s new eatery and tasting lounge set to open on March 25, 2013 in downtown Healdsburg.
“Healdsburg is becoming just as much a world-class food destination as an amazing wine destination,” says K-J Executive Chef Justin Wangler. “It’s the hub of Wine Country and the place everyone wants to be.”
K-J proprietor Barbara Banke concurs. “It’s an innovative concept that elevates the exploration of wine and food with the sophistication of fine dining,” she says.
Featuring seating for 55 guests, Partake by K-J’s Bites and Flights menu will be curated to feature ingredients from the winery’s own nearby organic gardens, artisan cheeses, estate-grown olive and grapeseed oils, and breads made from grapeskin flours. What will the wine list contain? You guessed it—Kendall-Jackson bottlings, such as Kendall-Jackson Highland Estates Camelot Chardonnay. Wine education classes and seminars on topics ranging from how wine is made to selecting the right glass for a specific sip will also be available at the eatery.
“More wineries are focusing on food,” says Wangler. “[They’re] also making more food-friendly wines. Eventually it’ll appeal to locals and visitors seeking a food destination as much as a wine tasting experience.”
Partake by K-J will be open daily May–October from 11 am–10 pm, closing at 8 pm November–April.
