Floral aromas of honeysuckle and jasmine meet with wet river stone, lime peel and nectarine on the nose. Maison Jussiaume 2016 Brut Blanc de Blancs Sparkling (Rogue Valley); $65, 93 points. Produced entirely from Del Rio Vineyards Chardonnay, this makes an important statement about the potential for Southern Oregon méthode Traditionelle bubbly. It’s exceptional in every way, from the delicate mousse to the aromatics of citrus and clover and into a penetrating palate with terrific length and finesse. Gerhard Pittnauer 2017 Pitt Nat Rosé Sparkling (Weinland Österreich); $30, 92 points. Creaminess on the nose has the peppery edge of just ripe red fruit, reminiscent of savory rose hip and red currant. There clearly is a little funk on the nose, but the light palate is a hedonistic, weightless moment of uncommon, creamy, fizzy lightness. Morell-Peña 2017 Blanc de Blancs Methode Champenoise Zero Dosage Sparkling (Columbia Valley); $45, 92 points. This is the inaugural release of this wine, which was aged in concrete eggs. With all of the fruit coming from Solaksen Vineyard on the Royal Slope, compelling aromas of lemon, lemon balm and autolytic notes lead to bright, tart, racy flavors. Starfield NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Sparkling (El Dorado); $26, 90 points. This is an exciting wine made from Marsanne, Fiano and Muscat grapes grown in the Sierra Foothills region. Generous pear, butter and vanilla flavors give this smooth and fine-grained wine plenty of substance, while a hint of sweetness and some mellow, spicy notes kick in on the finish. —Jim Gordon
