Stars, they’re just like us! They also find drinking wine while watching TV or a movie to be a sacred joy. We asked a few about their favorite pours for viewing pleasure.

Kylie Hitchcock, independent filmmaker, The Dog Walker: “The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is about a guy who steps out of his comfort zone and ends up immersed in the most incredible journey. Such an epic adventure requires an adventurous wine, something exotic and bold. So, I recommend the Sidebar Kerner Mokelumne River.

This bottle, a cross of Riesling and Trollinger with origins in Germany, is just different enough to transport you to where the movie wants you to go. It’s an adventurous wine for a brave movie that inspires us to step out of our comfort zones.”

Elisabeth Röhm, actress, Bombshell: “I like to sip an intense red like the Regusci 2016 Angelo’s Cabernet Sauvignon, eat Italian food and watch The Irishman. I’m Italian, and Scorsese’s film, mixed with the wine, makes me feel connected, like I’m getting back to my roots.”

Jonathan Tucker actor, Charlie’s Angels (2019) and Westworld: “I’m an Old World wine drinker, but I never enjoy a bottle more than when I know its story and the people involved with making it.

Put me in front of an episode of 60 Minutes with a bottle of Judge Palmer Vintage Select Cabernet, and I’m the happiest man in America. It returns me to the early vintages of California cult Cabs that got me into drinking nearly two decades ago, and that still stand toe to toe with any producer in the world.”

Nadria Tucker, screenwriter, Krypton: “For easy watching, like with RuPaul’s Drag Race, I love to pair something bubbly and light for easy drinking. For that I recently discovered sparkling saké; it has a lower [alcohol] content, so you can drink it through every twist, double-cross and wig-snatch. The Hakkaisan Clear Sparkling AWA has a nice balance of sweet and crisp.”
