00 Wines 2017 Richard Hermann Cuvée Chardonnay (Eola-Amity Hills)

Double Zero tags its top wines with the names of the founders' parents. This stunning example hews to the rich, ripe, opulent house style that carries across all of its Chardonnays. Here, the flavors seem suspended in a mesh of toasted marshmallows, a creamy lushness pervades the apple pie and lemon meringue fruit. Though not specifically called out, it's a single-vineyard bottling, most likely from Seven Springs or an adjacent vineyard. Paul Gregutt
