00 Wines 2018 Chehalem Mountain Chardonnay (Chehalem Mountains)

Produced with the intentionally oxidized black Chardonnay method, this single-vineyard selection is old Wente clone fruit from a site originally planted by Dick Erath a half century ago. It's a nicely textured wine, weaving together ripe apple fruit, buttery pie crust, a lick of salted caramel and a vein of dried rosemary. The balance overall is outstanding. Paul Gregutt
