Ultraripe aromas of raisin, prune and blackberry come across as mushy and overdone. A saturated palate is sappy and heavy, with tartaric acidity offering a boost. Flavors of prune, raisin and cassis are almost too ripe, while aforementioned acidity keeps this from collapsing on the finish. The 2015 vintage was a hot one, and this wears it. Michael Schachner
