1912 Winemakers 2009 Encosta do Bocho Grand Reserva Red (Douro)

Produced from old vines, this big and rounded wine has dark, dusty tannins that come from the concentrated fruit flavors as much as the wood. It comes from a producer whose main quinta, São Bernardo, was created in 1912. It is a dense, brooding wine that shows great weight and power. Black plum, dark berries and intense acidity are there in richness and profusion. Drink from 2018. Roger Voss
