2Hawk 2017 Padigan Series Tempranillo (Rogue Valley)

Named in honor of the small amount of Padigan series soils found in 2Hawk's estate vineyard, this is an impressive Tempranillo. Scents of roasted pork shoulder with a raspberry compote erupt from the glass, along with wee bits of leather, garrigue and cool cellar floor earth. Flavors like cherry clafoutis, cola and orange pekoe tea are equally impressive. The wine spent nearly three years in French oak, 50% of which was new, followed by a year of bottle conditioning.
