Aalto is one of Ribera's high flyers, and this vintage exhibits coconut, toast and marinated beef aromas in front of bold, round berry flavors. With a lot of oak and the warmth of 2003 behind it, this is a softer, less exact rendition than the amazing 2001 Aalto PS. But it still shows that excellent rugged fruit character and power that define Ribera del Duero.
