Abacela 2017 Malbec (Umpqua Valley)

Pure varietal Malbec is difficult to pull off, and this seems more like an excellent component than a complete wine. There's a hole in the midpalate, circled with blackberry fruit and sappy acidity. The tannins bring tea leaf flavors to a compact finish. Paul Gregutt
