Despite the name, this is the winery's standard bottling (sold without a designation in previous vintages). The blend this year is 75% Tempranillo, 20% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Merlot, aged in a mix of French and American oak. It's weedy, with some rhubarb notes amid the cherries and cassis, and seems a bit tart and hard, with toasty oak showing on the finish. Joe Czerwinski
