Abadia Retuerta 2001 Rívola Tempranillo-Cabernet Sauvignon (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y León)

Earthy and dark, with forward fruit and plenty of overt wood. With lots of berry fruit, a smooth feel, and fine overall integration, this is a quintessential, well-priced Spanish wine for 2004. There's no flab or fat, but it's not hard, either. A drying, coffee-filled finish with bitter chocolate is the final act. Michael Schachner
