Very dark and extracted, with brooding aromas of ink and lots and lots of wood. In the mouth, plum and blueberry fruit gets a boost from some chocolaty flavors, but that same fruit also gets covered up by some very heavy oak. The finish is rather grapy and heavy, with a cooling hint of menthol. —M.S.
