Acorn 1999 Alegría Vineyards Sangiovese (Russian River Valley)

American oak seems overly aggressive on the nose, with dominating aromas of clove and vanilla-tinged wood sap. Once you get past the bouquet, the wine is limpid, silky smooth, and utterly dry, with berry flavors.
