Adelaida 2018 Twenty Three Twenty Red (Adelaida District)

Rich layers of baked red fruit are wrapped in French toast, roasted coffee and pie spice on the nose of this vintage-dependent blend of 34% Syrah, 30% Petite Sirah, 17% Mourvèdre, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Alicante Bouschet. The palate offers roasted meat, baked currants and strong pepper spice, with polished tannins holding it together. Matt Kettmann
