The vineyard is owned by the former governor of Oregon, and the wine greets you with a firm handshake and a smile. A ripe, round nose shows ripe, forward fruit, generous and spicy. In the mouth it is textured and sleek, with a sculpted, elegant mouthfeel. It is ageworthy, and not overblown. —P.G.
