Alain Voge 2004 Les Peyrouses Red (Côtes du Rhône)

Voge is better known for his Cornas, but this Côtes-du-Rhône is a solid value—at press time, it could be found on sale for as little as $12. It's medium-bodied, with a silky mouthfeel and complex aromas of cinnamon, clove, pepper and cherries. Finishes long and crisp, with delicate tannins and a sense of minerality. Drink now.
