Whispers of violet, licorice and granite extend from nose to finish in this moderately full, succulent red. It's a gloriously ripe, finessed expression of 80-year-old Syrah planted on granitic slopes. Plump and penetrating, it finishes on chalky, mouthfilling tannins. Quite lovely in youth but should improve through 2027. Anna Lee C. Iijima
