90pointsAlara 2015 Tempranillo (Central Coast)

Ripe black-currant, baked fig, clove and ginger aromas show on the rich nose of this bottling. The palate is also quite ripe with thick fig cake and gingerbread flavors, though framed by chalky tannins and lots of acid, proving very Rioja-like. Matt Kettmann
