Alder Ridge provides grapes to many of Washington's quality boutiques; this is their frontline estate Cabernet. It shows well in this sleek vintage. Firm and sculpted, with cassis and plum fruit flavors, wrapped in mineral-soaked earth and a finishing wash of coffee grounds. For all its complexity, it is a moderate wine with excellent balance.
